Welcome to IPS.

Thank you for your continued support and patience at drop off and pick up. We have received a great deal of positive feedback from families, particularly around road safety as they feel more comfortable to provide a bit more independence to their child(ren) to cross roads unaided and enter the school grounds.

Yvonne, our crossing SUPERvisor ask that I remind you to use the crossing when you cross the road. We understand that it is a point of congestion but it does set a good example for the students. I'm sure you'll make a reasonable judgement call at this time.

A reminder that if you or your child feels unwell please do not come to school. It is better to be safe than sorry. Should you discover that you or your child has been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 please phone NURSE-ON-CALL 1300 606 024 (24 hours, 7 days a week).

The advice I have been given is if a person has been in contact with a positive case for more than 15 minutes they must self isolate for a period of 14 days from contact. If there are no symptoms you must still observe 14 days self isolation. If symptoms develop you should get tested. If the result is positive please inform the school immediately.

The weather continues to be kind to us and having fewer cars in Lowe St and Ailsa Grove has definitely made social distancing easier to manage and has helped everyone to feel safer.

Dear community members,

Every four years, each school undertakes a self-evaluation of the previous four years and engages the whole school community in a reflective analysis of the school’s performance.

A purposeful, high quality self-evaluation makes an important contribution to improving our school and in raising the achievement of learners.

In the link there are four questions that have been developed by Ivanhoe School Council to clarify and identify those things we do that lead to sustained successful outcomes, and the barriers that may have prevented success.

I hope that you will engage with this opportunity so we can continue to improve. We need to know what we are doing well and what we can do better.

Students improving the playspace.

This week several cubic metres of washed sand was dropped off to fill our decidedly empty sandpits along with softfall to go under the play equipment. Year One students enthusiastically helped Leo using any means at their disposal to transport the sand to the pit.
