Assistant Principal's Report 11 & 12

Ms. Julie Ryan

Year 11 & 12

The Year 11 and 12 students certainly enjoyed having the school to themselves for 2 weeks, but it is wonderful to see the rest of our students return and fully resume face to face learning. I congratulate all staff, students and families for their efforts through this once in a lifetime event.

This certainly has been a Term 2 like no other and being in lockdown has had an impact on our usual program in terms of whole school events, SRC meetings and activities, interschool sports and Year 12 dress up days.

Despite these challenges, we are working to ensure modified events are able to continue moving forward. We have an upcoming out of uniform day on Thursday 18th of June to celebrate our Indigenous community. Year 12 students will have their pajama dress up day on Monday 22nd of June.

We have had our first SRC meeting for the term and students are focused on improving the experience at school for their peers even when we are unable to engage in the usual community activities with Whittlesea Baseline and excursions due to CoVid restrictions. A list of our 2020 representatives is below.

We have now finalised the dates for year 12 students and can confirm that the last day of school for these students will be October 28th. We have also tentatively booked a date for our Year 12 Formal for December the 4th. We hope that by that time, restrictions will have been lifted for gatherings of this type.
