Return of Students to Library Lessons

Students have enjoyed returning to their library lessons at school over the last few weeks. We have been listening to stories about how characters solve problems and had a focus on stories with Aboriginal perspectives. Students in Years 1 and 2 made monkeys with 'I can' statements after listening to Alex Rance’s book Monkey’s Tail. Students from Foundation to Year 4 have been making pictures of creatures which live in and around rivers after listening to stories about the Murray and Yarra rivers.

Library Books

Now that students are back to face to face learning, we would love to see some of the students borrowed resources coming back to the Library. Next week we will be sending teachers a list of books to remind students about what they have borrowed. Just a reminder that Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 students need to bring a bag to keep library books safe. It doesn’t have to be fancy just strong enough to protect the books. Have a chat to your children about what they are bringing home from the library.

Great New Books

We have continued to buy some fantastic new books while students were remote learning, in preparation for their return. New graphic novels such as Trespassers by Breena Bard are sure to be popular with our middle year students. There are several movie tie-in books including books from the Onward Disney movie and the Spirit movie, popular with our horse loving students. New books which are part of well borrowed series include the latest Funny Kid - Next Level, Hot Dog Book 8 - Art Time and Anh Do’s Eboy (an autographed copy).
