Years 6-8 Partnerships Program

Birdboxes

The students have just about finished their birdboxes. This project has been designed to continue with our theme, creating 'Partnerships' in the school community where the bird boxes will be a great asset in any environment. The students have brainstormed about delivering these items to the following locations:

- 2019/20 Fire affected areas

- Barmah State Forest

- Warramunda

If anyone would like a bird box, please contact Anthony Poppa or Corey Carver at school.

Push Up Challenge

During the final two weeks of remote learning, the students were assigned the Push Up Challenge. The purpose of this event meant the students had to perform 25 pushups each night as their intention was to raise awareness for 'Youth Mental Health'. While we didn't raise any money for this event, the goal is to help reduce the number of Australian lives being lost to suicide by increasing awareness of mental ill-health in the community and raising funds for Headspace.  The students pushed out a total of 320 pushups, with Bailey White and Archie Watt leading the way.  Well done to all of the students in this space.

From the 5-8 Community Leaders

Hi to all families,

Both Tuesday and Wednesday for our students, have been a real success. They have picked up where they have left off and have come back ready to go by giving every learning opportunity a real hard go. They have also all added an inch or two to their height department as well, with some students in Years 5/6 starting to tower over Mr Carver and Mr Busch.

A big shout out to the 5/6 students and the teaching team, for making some slight changes to their timetable, meaning their days look very different at the moment.  They have handled this transition extremely well.

Regards,

Anthony Poppa and Corey Carver
