Families and Friends News

Get involved!

Families and Friends are having to re-think our strategy when it comes to our remaining events and fundraising initiatives for 2020. It's a whole new world, that's for sure, and we would like to know if you have any ideas about how we can continue to fundraise for our school playground fund while remaining COVID-19 conscious.

Please email us on contact.smppsff@gmail.com by Saturday 6th of June with any thoughts you may have around this. We will be sending out an online survey to gauge the community's reaction to the top ideas including those represented in our existing 2020 calendar.

We are curious as to what you would be excited to participate in, and what you think we could do to fundraise from outside of our school community as well during this time. If you have a great new idea or a way to run an existing initiative differently with social-distancing in mind, please let us know so we can ensure your ideas are represented in the upcoming online survey.

Thank you in advance. If you have any queries and can’t speak to a member of the Committee directly - please feel free to email us at: contact.smppsff@gmail.com

Family & Friends Initiative & Survey

Have your say in the remaining F&F Calendar for 2020

We are rethinking how to approach the rest of the year, in regard to our existing calendar of events as well as fundraising initiatives. In the next days, you will receive a link to an online survey - please fill it in to let us know what you are keen to support in the new COVID-19-savvy world and also to let us know how you would like to be involved.

We look forward to coming together in all the ways we are still able to, in order to continue to support our community spirit as well as to meet our fundraising goals for the school playground

F&F Friendship Garden

Contributions needed

Our Friendship Garden will feature painted rocks designed by our children - the rocks will be painted during their art classes and will represent their individuality and belonging in our community. If you are in a position to contribute to the cost of materials for this collaborative art project,we are seeking donations via QKR - just select ‘Friendship Garden’ and the funds will go directly toward this project.

To make this project a reality, we are looking at covering costs for the stones, acrylic outdoor paints, clear gloss finish and paving sealer. As a guide, $7 would cover the project for each child, although we are hoping families who are able to give more will do so in order to ensure that our garden is full of beautiful stones that represent our community.

Please transfer donations via QKR via Wed 10th June and help us to see this collaborative art project through.

GRANT SUCCESS

Congratulations!

Family & Friends have been advised that we were successful in being awarded a grant of $1000 through the Community Grants Hub for funding under Volunteer Grants 2019.

The grant recognises the vital contribution of volunteers in strengthening and enriching our communities and we were awarded this amount to go towards outdoor furniture and equipment to help us get together a bbq and entertainment area to continue to bring the community together in future.

Thank you to Yen Vuong for your hard work in putting together the grant application!
