Our senior students have shown us what dedication means and have run Art club during lunchtimes, arranged the popular Japan Club activities, organised the activities for the term 1 House Rewards afternoon and run the peer meditation in the playground.
Finally, thank you to the PFA for their tireless contributions, especially the revamped Easter Raffle, the inaugural Mother’s Day breakfast, Mother’s Day stall, popcorn stall and the crunchy apple drive. Thank you to our School Council members for their unqualified support and to all of you who support the school, the children and their learning in so many ways.
Tomorrow afternoon, the first semester student reports will be issued via Compass. We trust you will identify aspects of your child’s school performance of which you can be very proud. The reports reflect our attention to academic rigour and regular assessment to determine the direction of our teaching. However, as you know, we continue to emphasise our commitment to the personal and social development of each child.
Wishing all a safe and enjoyable term break with some greater freedoms to meet family and friends. We look forward to seeing everyone back safely on Monday 12th July.
Karen Bentata-Grimm has kindly offered to step up into the Acting Principal role for this period and she will be ably supported by Amanda Miller and Liz Harley. I greatly appreciate their efforts and thank them for allowing me this time away. The replacement in the year 5 team will be Kylie Chadwick, who is thrilled to become part of this team for the majority of term 3.
I remind parents that if children are very sick or more seriously injured and parents or their emergency contact person cannot be contacted by phone, we are obliged to ring an ambulance to take the child to the doctor or hospital. DET does not provide personal accident insurance for students. Parents and guardians are responsible for paying the costs of medical treatment for injured students including medical transport. Teachers cannot take children to the doctor or hospital in private cars. The cost of the ambulance will be the responsibility of the parents.
This can be very expensive unless parents have ambulance subscription. It is very important parents consider taking out ambulance cover. Health Care Card holders receive free ambulance service (children’s names must be on the Health Care Card).
Enrolments are now being taken for 2022. It is now time for parents with school aged siblings to complete enrolment forms for our 2022 school year. If you are aware of friends, neighbours or relatives who have a child ready to start school in 2022 please let them know that enrolments are now being taken.
Mrs Bentata-Grimm, Mrs Miller and Ms Harley are also available to answer questions or show interested parents and students around our school. Please call the office to book school tours.
If anyone may have witnessed a local resident being bitten by a dog, near the school, back in April, can you please get in touch with me.
Thank you.
