Faith and Mission

Our Kildare Ministries guiding document ‘Living Justice, Living Peace’ Charter encourages us to learn with wonder, lead with courage and live with compassion.

With Christ as our cornerstone, we will explore the Charter through four areas:

1) Our Mother Earth,

2) Seeking a Home,

3) Peaceful Humanity and

4) Our First Australians.

It will be embedded in our curriculum to shape our actions in the school community and inform all our communications.

The Charter will stir our thoughts, our minds and our hearts to deepen our understanding, our love and proclamation, and our commitment to action to living justice, living peace beyond what we do already.”  Rosemary Copeland, Co-Chair Trustees of Kildare Ministries.

For the remainder of the year, we will explore the theme: Learning with Wonder through the spirituality of the Kildare founding charisms and their particular lens on the Gospel. Nano Nagle’s commitment to the poor and Brigid’s hospitality, compassion and generosity will be foundation stones to exploring the value of Wonder and nurturing a commitment to ongoing action. The ‘Living Justice, Living Peace’ Charter invites us to embrace not only the human community of earth, but also the whole, interrelated community of the natural world, and we acknowledge the need to embrace the First Nations’ knowledge and experiences in informing how we can bring this to life.

Through Learning with Wonder, we are committed to listening more deeply to

a) injustice and oppression, b) the degradation of our common home, c) working towards the self-determination and empowerment of asylum seekers and refugees and d) working and walking together with our Indigenous peoples to support them in their journey towards self-determination. We will follow the story of Jesus and reflect on his lived actions of kindness and compassion as a compass for future actions.
