Junior School News

If everyday is a gift, then today's gift is socks.

Our Junior School students donned their craziest socks for a day during remote learning. It was a colourful, fun and crazy day! Well done to all those who submitted entries!

Special mention to the purrr-fect socks of Ruby Cripps' (7A), Aiden Dominko (7B) for his socks that popped, and Grace Campbell's (7A) socks that are bacon our heart.

Please congratulate these students as our sock champions!

This reminds me of a quote from J.K. Rowling.... "one can never have enough socks!". I think it's certainly true!

Welcome to Mrs. Spiteri

Hello everyone,

It has come to my attention over the last couple of days that many of you have no idea who I am. So here I am saying 'hi' and introducing myself.

My name is Kelly and I'm the new Director of Junior School. I began at Chelt at the start of the term, so unfortunately didn't have much time to meet you all face to face before being thrown into lockdown.

I'm really excited to be at Chelt and look forward to working closely with you all. I have included a photo of myself so you can put a face to the name. It was a struggle to find a photo that I could cut myself out of as all of my photos are with my husband, son and/or dog.

I hope remote learning and lockdown 5.0 is treating you well.

Kelly Spiteri

Congratulations

to all Junior School students on their successful return to remote learning. While I know that many of our students would prefer to be physically at school, they have returned to remote learning without a complaint knowing that it is what we must do to stay safe. I am proud of the resilience our students are demonstrating through their adaptability and dedication to their learning. I encourage all of our students to keep their communication channels open during this time; speak with your teachers if you are unsure or needing assistance, speak with those closest to you about how you are coping with remote learning and isolation and seek additional support from our Wellbeing Team.

My Covid - 19 Experience

Hello, my name is Eden. I am a Year 7 student and I would like to tell you a bit about my Covid-19 experience. Throughout this crisis of Covid-19 I have gone through isolation and lock-downs, but through this time it has given me to realise what is truly important to me and how lucky I am as a person. Throughout this event I have gone through adventures with friends and family, and doing the things I love with the people I love. I have been reading exciting books, doing lots of meets and getting back together with teachers and classmates, cooking, drawing, talking about my favourite cartoon characters, chatting with friends, having fun with my siblings, playing games, listening to music, learning new songs with my saxophone, having mini disco parties at home, celebrating birthdays and dressing up. These things have brought me to realise what is truly important in my life and that fun adventures and obstacles await to come. So even though Covid-19 has taken me away from some experiences I wished to do, it has also given me new ones I never realised I would enjoy. In the end I think this unexpected event is worth a grin.
