Wellbeing - Around the grounds

In the first week of school the Intermediate and Senior VCAL classes combined to work in groups for their Personal Development Skills classes and solve a real life problem!

We had noticed that large groups of magpies were eating the grass seed from Mr Florence's new year seven lawn area,  almost as quickly as he could plant it.

So we set about creating a solution... scarecrows!

It was a lot of fun deciding on the appearance and backstory for each scarecrow and we got a lot of laughter in before the lockdown at the end of the week. So we found this really refreshing and uplifting for our well-being which is part of the VCAL program.  The day was productive ended with slideshow presentations as assessment which adds to our Oracy outcomes (speaking for practical purposes) to Build confidence in communication skills for the workplace.
