Celebrating Indigenous culture

NAIDOC week was recognised and celebrated at Northcote High school starting with an Acknowledgment of Country delivered by Rose Stewart to the whole school. We held a celebration lunch with our First Australian students and allies, which was a lovely opportunity to meet and discuss ideas and plans to continue to raise awareness of and celebrate indigenous culture at school. Students enjoyed the lunch and some good tunes from artists Briggs and Thelma Plum. We have printed and framed the Uluru Statement Of The Heart and this will be hung at school in coming weeks.
