Vote to name the Beavers Road bridge
In partnership with Moreland Council, Darebin Council has constructed a bridge that suspends over the Merri Creek and connects Beavers Road, Northcote to Kingfisher Gardens, Brunswick East. The bridge was completed and opened to the public on 16 September 2020 and a request was received to name the bridge.
After consultation with the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation, Darebin City Council narrowed down the list of potential names for the new bridge to two. They are:
- Bindjirru Parren Bridge (means Two Way in Woi Wurrung Language)
- Warrk-warrk Bridge (means Nimble in Woi Wurrung Language)
We are now seeking community feedback and are asking the Darebin and Moreland community to cast their vote for the preferred name. If you live within the Darebin and Moreland community, here is how to vote.
