FOUNDATION - Around the Traps

Literacy

This week we will look closely at Not Cute. by Philip Bunting, a great story from book week which received honours. A story about a very cute quokka, but quokka does not like being cute! He would rather be seen by his friends as dangerous and scary! This text provides a great read-aloud experience with engaging dialogue and repetition that the kids love. Not only do we learn some lessons from this story, but it also lends itself nicely to learning qu as in queen, adjectives and revision on punctuation, especially talking marks.

Maths

In Maths we will continue working on division. We have talked about the division in terms of sharing equally. Students have enjoyed creating their own division stories!

RE (Religious Education)

Foundation will be continuing to learn about the Saints. This week we will hear about the lives of St Martin de Porres and St. Therese.
