News

We have been practising some dancing in the 4/5/6 classrooms over the past two weeks. Miss Sartori secured some online lessons from the Australian School of Performing Arts. This has pushed many students out of their comfort zones which have been great. There have been vocal warm-ups, singing and dancing hosted by two members of ASPA.

This Friday is the Book Week parade. The theme this year is New Worlds, Old Worlds, Other Worlds. For those who don't wish to go all out, come "Dressed for a bedtime story".  Wear your pyjamas!

Literacy

We are celebrating Book Week this week so students have prepared a display of their favourite books. Please see the display below:

Maths

A couple of the maths groups have been focused on the place value system over the past few days. We are looking at how the place value system goes beyond the decimal point to tenths and hundredths. This leads students to work with fractions and decimals. There has also been a group looking at the relationship between addition and subtraction.

Life Relationships

We did a quiz last week to see where the students were at (and have a bit of fun). Miss Bridget has also discussed menstruation with the girls and believe there was some experimenting with sanitary items and water last Wednesday. The boys and Mr Butters let them enjoy this time without our intrusion :)

Inquiry

We attempted to create electrical circuits last Friday. Students used a battery, foil and a fairy light to try and complete a successful circuit. Some students had a small amount of success. This was a bit of fun and we will continue to look at electricity next week. No students were harmed during our experiments although Cooper and Shaun suggested a car battery might have more kick than my AA's. I agreed and politely declined!

Have a great week everyone!
