Student Reflections

This term our artists from Year Preps, Ones, and Two’s have been exploring and experimenting with textas using water. They learnt that dried up textas can come back to life using water and discovered that with water, their artworks look like they have used watercolour paints.

Our young artists have also been learning more about line, shape and colour to create amazing artworks. They have used available art materials and tools of their choice. Each artwork tells a story or represents their own ideas.

Artists from Year three and four have been learning about “How artists get their ideas” They have created artworks that have been inspired by their imagination, interests, other artists and their own experiences. The choices of materials artists have used were clay, playdough, drawing tools, assorted collage materials, fabric, paint and cardboard.

Year 5 artists have been exploring drawing techniques such as blending and line work using a choice of available drawing tools. Year 6 students have extended on this exploration, developing ideas and techniques - in their chosen medium- through their own Passion Project.

What I liked about Art this Year?

Prep

I liked weaving and painting. I also like draw and playdough. I like it because it is fun! – Olivia S

Year Four

I liked how this year we got free choice compared to last year where we had to do a specific topic. I also love painting and how we were able to work together in a group -Kiara T
