Principal's Message

Term 4 Week 8

Senior School Production The Lion King

Rehearsals are in full swing with a weekend rehearsal for the lead characters in the Production on Saturday. Lots of the sets are in place and that made it even more real. We are excited to be able to run the Production at Karralyka Theatre on Wednesday 1st December.  There will be two performances on this day, a matinee at 1.00pm and an evening performance at 7.00pm. A letter went home to all Year 3-6 students today explaining about the arrangements and the COVID Safe strategies that will be in place for the audiences and performers.

We continue to follow the advice from DET and the Chief Health Officer. With restrictions easing there are adaptations and modifications we can make to some of our events and programs. Our focus is still on Senior School Production, Year 6 Graduation and 3/4 Camp. We have been very fortunate so far not to have a case in the school. I thank everyone in our parent community for their continued support and the efforts of students and teachers with masks, hand sanitiser and social distancing when possible.

Student Support Groups Meetings

SSG meetings will be held this week, the majority via Zoom, on Tuesday - Thursday, for students on the Program for Students with Disabilities.

Foundation 2022 Information Evening

Although only one double vaccinated parent could attend, everyone agreed it was very nice to meet up in person. Parents visited their child's class as many have been unable to come on tours and at least now they can visualise a little when their child starts school. Thank you to our School Council President Bec Smith and our P&F Coordinator Flip McKinnon for joining us on the evening  and presenting to the parents. I am grateful Flip has decided to stay on as Coordinator of P&F - hopefully we get to hold more of our events and have parents participating and attending school, in person. It has been a hard two years to be a P&F Coordinator and Flip has been a great support to our parent community, whenver the opportunity has allowed.

Thank you to our brand new Class Parent Reps:

Kinder Orientation Sessions

In 2022 our Kinder is growing, we will have two Three Year Old groups and three Four Year Old groups. Over the last 3 weeks we have run our Orientation Sessions, in split groups to maintain our COVID safe management plan.

Our teachers for next year will be Al Milsted, Kelly-Anne Cleggett, Theresa Evans and our Chinese Language program teacher Cristina Liu. Mardi Taylor, Carol Billingham and we welcome Amelia Anderson, as educators to the Kinder for 2022. Julie Mann will be retiring at the end of the year and we are making plans to mark Julie's retirement.
