Parents & Friends

🎄33 Days until Christmas!

It’s almost time to pop up the decorations, and this year we’ve been approached by the Bill Waters Rover Crew to help with our fundraising. They’ve offered to donate a % of sales when you use our link to purchase a Christmas Tree or stand:

https://scouttrees.com.au/discount/MountPleasant

You can even organise them to collect your tree in the New YearÂ đŸ‘đŸ»

đŸ§‘đŸœâ€đŸŽ“Â The Class of 2021 are beginning to plan their Graduation ceremony, and traditionally the Grade 5 parents provide dessert and decorations. This year will be a little different, but we’re still asking Grade 5 parents to contribute to the Desserts Table.

It will be on Thursday 9th December after school in the Hall. A note will come home soon to Grade 5 families regarding bringing a plate to share.

🍞 Next time you’re grabbing your bread at Bakers Delight Brentford Square, don’t forget to mention that you’re a member of the MPRPS community - they donate a % of your purchase back to the school. It’s an easy way to support the school as well as local businesses.

đŸ„ŁÂ It’s this time of year that becomes financially stressful for some families with Christmas and holidays on the way, not to mention recovering from 2 years of lockdowns.

Jess Sterritt Walker co-ordinates support for school families through an anonymous volunteer community. Your family, or a family you know, may be having a challenging time due to any number of reasons.

Please know that you can reach out to Jess to let her know what you need - eg. groceries essentials, some snacks for lunchboxes or a few home cooked meals. Jess reaches out to her volunteers who provide what’s needed and both parties stay anonymous to each other.

If you need help, or if you’d like to help, you  can email Jess at:

📋Class Reps for 2022

As we wind down on 2021 (and recover from 2020!), it’s normal to feel a little sad about how much our families and school community  missed out on during the past two years. If you’re passionate (or even just keen!) to help strengthen our school community, please consider becoming a Class Parent Rep for 2022. While next year’s classes aren’t finalised till the end of the school year, it’s a good time to start thinking about how you can help out next year. The role isn’t demanding - you might organise a catch up once a term in a local park, and put together a parent chat group. You might like to have a fellow parent take on the role with you and share the job.

If you’re keen to come on board as a Class Parent Rep for 2022, please let either the Office or myself know, and we will contact you once classes are finalised either at the end of this school year, or early in Feb 2022.

đŸ‘đŸ»Â If you haven’t already, please join the Parents Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/mprpsparentsandfriends/

This group was started by Trish Brimelow 6 years ago, and is a great place to stay up to date with school events and connect with fellow parents.
