Girton Aerobic Gymnastics

On Thursday 4th November, the Girton Aerobic Gymnastics team competed in the Girton Aerobic Challenge. The event was held in the Blackbox with students from Year One to Year Twelve competing in a range of categories. The students performed routines ranging from Level Three to Level Five and Aerodance. The evening showcased students’ skills and choreography. It was pleasing to see how much the students have improved whether they have been training for years or a few weeks.
After two years of interrupted seasons as a result of covid, it was pleasing to have all of the students out on the floor showcasing what they have achieved in the training sessions. The Aerobic Gymnastic students train on Thursday afternoons 3.15-5 pm for the junior students and 5-6 pm for the senior students.
The evening was also a chance to thank our coach Sally Moore, senior school student coaches Alessia McCaig, Ruby Conti and Junior School students, Varley Bobart and Stephanie Carlson who have also stepped in to assist with the younger students each week. We also took the opportunity to farewell our Founding Captain, Alessia McCaig as she completes her Year Twelve studies. Alessia has represented Girton in Aerobic Gymnastics for the past 7 years and has won numerous State and National Aeroschool Titles. The team will miss her leadership and support next year.
