Principal Report 

That’s a wrap for 2021!

And what a year it has been, with the first 2 terms relatively normal but then we’ve also been dealt with many challenges through Covid, restrictions, positive cases and remote learning in the second half of the year. I am just so very proud of how everyone rose to the challenge in our community  and I truly believe this has made us stronger because of that shared challenge and responsibility. 

Thank you to all the staff at Grayling for an outstanding year of work. It has been an absolute pleasure working alongside you and I cannot thank you enough for rising to the challenges that 2021 threw at us.

Semester 2 Reports 

Remote learning during term 3 has provided us with some challenges and made us do things very differently, however your child has submitted Learning Tasks throughout the semester in the key curriculum learning areas of Reading, Writing,  Speaking & Listening, Mathematics, Science, Art and Physical Education. These are the curriculum learning areas that your child’s teacher has reported on this semesterThe reports will be available via Compass as of Monday 13th December from 4pm.

Step up session

Students will meet their new teacher and classmates on Tuesday the 14th of December during period 4. Our new staff members will also be onsite that day to meet their new students as well.

Next year we have many new staff members and students starting with us as our school continues to grow. Students first day back will be Monday, 31st  January. We will be sending Compass reminders about all the important dates that will be coming up in term one 2022. 

Following the Step Up session we are aware that your child may wish to be with a certain friend and may therefore, come home with some concern about next year. In our experience, once the children begin the school year they quickly settle into their new classes and so we ask that you wait until we have completed the first 4 weeks of Term One next year to see if they settle. If, after this time, you still have concerns, please contact the school.

Just a reminder that the students will be finishing on Thursday the 16th and we will be dismissing the students at 2:30pm.
