Teaching and Learning

Our students have been busy in the classrooms over the past few weeks.

Our Prep Students have been learning all about Life Under the Sea. They have explored a range of sea creatures and developed their understanding around why it is important to protect our oceans. Last week students were learning all about penguins – they did a great job writing facts about them.

Our Junior School students have been busy learning all about procedure texts. They have had some shared experiences where they have learnt the language of the game or process, then written a step by step procedure which included an aim, materials required and the process.

In the Middle School students are working on their Passion Projects. This week they have been researching a topic that interests them to find out some additional information. They are starting to plan how they can incorporate their passion into a range of writing styles.

Our Senior School students have a number of projects they are working through prior to the end of the year including their Graduation Project and Multi-Genre Writing Project.

Outdoor learning – whilst the Melbourne weather has been quite temperamental this week our teachers are still taking as many opportunities as possible to take their students outside for learning. Here are the Prep Students practising their number formation as part of their Maths learning this week!

Amongst all this learning there has also been a range of assessment tasks being completed by teachers in the classrooms. Reports will be live on Compass on December 10th.  If you would like an opportunity to discuss your child’s progress this year, please contact your child’s teacher and book in a time to do this.
