Parents Association Update

Farewell to a Parents' Association mainstay...

Although it sounds like a cliche it really is with the heaviest of hearts that Skipps is saying goodbye to the Gibbs family at the end of the year.

Jo Gibbs has been a stalwart at the school since James joined Foundation 8 years ago followed by his sisters, Jessica and Charlotte, two years later.

For those of you who do not know Jo, she is one of those amazing ‘can do’ people who seem to add more and more to their ‘to do list’ regardless of how busy they become. Jo has been a part of the backbone of SKIPPA and has tirelessly donated her time to the school community. Fetes, sporting events, stalls, sushi Fridays’, the school council. Jo has done them all.

And done them with humour and good will. We thank you Jo for all you have given to us at Skipps. You will be greatly missed.

We wish you and the family all the very best, and hope to see you back here at future social events. (I’m sure there will be a role  for you Jo at the 2022 fete!)

Acknowledgement and thanks...

SKiPPA would like to extend a huge thank you to Liz (Edward 5/6M) who has been an active volunteer at school and part of our SKiPPS Parents Association (SKiPPA) since 2014.

As well as working full-time she has contributed so much to our fabulous school such as organizing Jazz in the Park and COTA, co-ordinating the many BBQs at such events, helping at Trivia Night, assisting with the SKiPPS Fete and helping to co-ordinate all tasks within SKiPPA. Your amazing efficiency and organization skills will be sorely missed at SKiPPS.

As for SKiPPA, it has been a pleasure getting to know you and your family Liz. Your willingness to help across so many areas at the school is very much appreciated by us all and we will really miss you at SKiPPS.

Sushi Co-Ordinator Wanted

We are looking for a volunteer who can co-ordinate our famous Sushi Friday in 2022.

The role is very simple and involves:

  • Co-ordination with the sushi company to set up the ordering system (once per term – 1hr)
  • Packing of the sushi for the students on a Friday (1hr each Friday morning - can be a roster)

If you think you can assist with the above role, noting that full training is provided, please email us at stkildaparkparents@gmail.com.
