Aquamoves Excursion

As part of the Strength and Conditioning elective, a number of Year 9/10 boys attended two Aquamoves

excursions. These excursions were designed to expose students to a variety of different activities and exercises. Students completed a challenging teamwork based Bootcamp session using battle ropes, tractor tyres and sandbags. Students also completed a body weight circuit. This circuit was designed to expose students to a session that can be completed with minimal equipment and doesn’t necessarily require a gym based setting to complete it. It was great to see students actively participating in the sessions. They received some very positive feedback from the fitness instructors.

PJ DAY:

On Monday 24th June, students were able to wear their PJ's to school. A good choice in this weather.

LA TROBE- BRADFORD PATHWAY PROGRAM

‘On Tuesday 25th June 2019, sixteen Year 12 VCE students from Mooroopna Secondary College who are participating in the Bradford Pathway mentoring program attended the official launch at Eastbank, Shepparton, along with students from the Better Together Alliance Shepparton schools.

‘We heard a few words from the Richard Speed, Vic-Chancellor, La Trobe University and Roger Gillespie. The Gillespie family have made a generous contribution, which has made the Bradford Pathway Program Shepparton possible. We also heard from a student who participated in the program last year. Lexi gave us an insightful account in to how the Bradford program helped her get through her VCE, at a time when she had a lot of problems to tackle.

The Vice-Chancellor reminded the students of how lucky we were to receive an opportunity that many regional students have missed over the years – help getting to University and further education. He also touched on our responsibility to use the tools given to us through the program, to the best of our ability: it’s up to us to make our path in life.

The Bradford Program mentors us on common topics such as English, provides us with information and techniques to deal with stress, how to manage our time and encouragement. This program is a helping hand for VCE students. We have also received conditional offers to La Trobe courses, which takes a weight off our shoulders and gives us a clear goal to reach’.
