New website- www.mooroopnasc.vic.edu.au

The website has a live RSS feed from our Compass News page and our Facebook page. We will continue to add important documents that relate to your child’s education as well as recent images from events. The page is designed to operate on all new Smartphones and tablets. Check out the new site and make it your favourite!

Footwear

A reminder that school shoes should be fully enclosed lace ups, with a heel, and that are cut under the ankle. Boots that are or resemble the ‘Doc Martin’ brand are not correct footwear. This has been published widely on Compass and the School Newsletter over the past year. Any queries/problems please contact your YLC. Attached is a photo from a large retail chain that sells these shoes in Shepparton.

Sun Smart

Wide brimmed hats are encouraged to be worn at recess and lunchtime. Baseball caps are not Sun Smart and are not to be worn on school grounds.

Compass

We are now in our third year of using Compass. A reminder that all Student Reports (Semester/SPA) going back many years are available on your Student's Compass page; Parents can check and approve attendance data; the three Year 7-10 SACs per semester can be viewed on Compass with online feedback provided by the classroom teachers after the completion of the SAC. If your family is having Compass log in issues, please contact the College once the School year commence.

Attendance

Daily school attendance is a vital part of every child’s education and preparation for employment. If your child is going to be absent from school, please contact the attendance line before 9.00 am and follow the message prompts. If your child is going to be absent for an extended period of time please ensure that you contact the relevant Year Level Coordinator to ensure work from the classroom is provided to your child.

Homework

Students at our school rarely have no homework to complete. Whilst teachers may not set homework in every session, in all subjects there are SACs that can be worked upon at home via Compass, or taken home in paper form or taken home in a USB. In most Senior Subjects students should be revising content previously taught or reading ahead in time. Homework can also include reading novels, books or newspapers.

Contacting MSC

Should you require to have a message passed onto your child please contact Student Reception rather than directly making contact via their Mobile Phone. Voice Messages can also be left with your child’s Year Level Coordinator and we shall endeavour to return calls promptly.
