Principal's Report

 Principal’s Report 19th May

It’s great to be back into term 2 and planning exciting activities for our students without restrictions. There has been lots of great learning in classrooms and lots of extra activities going on around the school from Run club, District school sports, interschool sport, grade 6 Camp to Waratah Bay to Prep transition tours and Information night.

Education Week celebrates education in Victoria and runs from Sunday 14th May to Saturday 20th May. The theme this year is ‘Active Learners: Move, Make, Motivate’ which celebrates physical activity, hands-on learning and student voice in education. Classroom work will acknowledge and celebrate the learning that happens in classrooms through a variety of activities.

RUN CLUB

Despite the cold weather, run club continues to have impressive numbers of runners, students, staff and parents, who show up to support their classes and prioritize their physical well-being. Congratulations to all who participate, we are extremely proud of your efforts! We have had another Half Marathon completed by a grade 1 student. As you can see by the statistics below, there are many kilometres being covered by our runners.

Researchers at Deakin University are conducting a study to understand physical activity and sitting time practices of mothers and children of South Asian origin currently living in Australia. A total of about 500 mothers will participate in this online survey.

You are eligible to participate in this research project if you are of South Asian origin, a mother of a child aged 2-12 years, speak English, and currently live in Australia. The study findings will inform future programs to improve physical activity and sitting behaviours among South Asian mothers and children.
