Principal's News

Dear Parents and Carers,

Over 800 people filled St Mary’s Church last Friday as the three Catholic Primary Schools of the Colac Coragulac Network and the student leaders and Principal of Trinity College gathered to celebrate the Mass to mark Catholic Education Week.

As always Fr Michael led the Mass so beautifully and managed to hold the attention of so many young children for just one hour. The music was a particularly enjoyable feature of our celebration and, as always, YOUR children were an absolute credit to you.

Unfortunately the inclement weather meant that our plans for a shared morning tea and play were cancelled.

This morning we again played “The Wonderful Challenge” at our morning briefing, after about six different children approached me before school and begged me to play it!

Imagine six little kids pestering the principal to stand up in front of 400 of their peers and describe three “wonderful things” that happened to them yesterday. To be honest I don’t take much persuading, because like most people I love being around people who can find the “silver lining” - who can find something positive and uplifting to say - it cheers us up and makes us more fun to be around. This morning’s game between Nate (Gr 2 - playing footy & basketball with friends and doing Maths) and Joe (Gr 5- weekend party, Tech club & swimming practice) was a draw. Simple things that can mean so much.
