In Integrated this week we are learning about Personal Space and Consent.

VOCABULARY

Consent: Giving permission

Personal Space: Giving people around you physical space to move and to feel comfortable.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

With your child, discuss the meaning of giving consent and personal space to someone. For example: “Consent means giving someone permission - “Yes, you can give me a hug.”

Brainstorm with your child different activities that would require you to give consent or give personal space to someone.

Examples:

• Sitting on the floor during learning time
• Walking in the shopping centre
• When talking to someone

Your child can also draw a picture of the different ways that they can show giving personal space or consent.
