CURRICULUM FOCUS

In Maths this week we are learning about patterning.

VOCABULARY

Patterning: is something that happens or appears in a regular and repeated way.

Repeating part: the part of the pattern that occurs over and over again.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

With your child create some patterns at home using any objects, materials, coloured pencils/crayons/textas you have access to or draw and colour patterns.

Create a range of patterns and discuss with your child the part of the pattern that is repeating. Have your child point to or circle the repeating part of the patterns they have made.

See how many different types of patterns you can create.
