ALL WELCOME – WORSHIP SERVICES AT ST PAUL

Everyone is welcome to join us on Sunday morning for worship. Worship times are 8.30am for a Traditional Service and 10.00am for a more Contemporary service with Godly Play on offer for Primary School aged children. Tea and Coffee and a time of gathering is held most weeks after both worship services.

ASCENSION DAY

This week the Church is celebrating Ascension Day, which is the 40th day after Jesus rose from the dead on Easter Sunday.  On this day, Jesus literally and miraculously ascended into heaven in front of his disciples.  The Bible says “He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight’’ (Acts 1:9)  Jesus spent those 40 days travelling and preaching with his disciples and preparing them for his ascension into Heaven.  Jesus is now in Heaven now waiting for the time when he returns to take all who believe in him to live with him in Heaven forever, but we can still talk to him anytime and anywhere through prayer.  While we are on earth, we are encouraged as the disciples were, to spread to others the knowledge of how much Jesus loves everyone and wants for them to live in Heaven with him.

PLAYGROUP @ ST PAUL

Playgroup @St Paul is on each Tuesday during Term time in the Hall.  We welcome people anytime from 8.30am onwards to help set up. Join us for a coffee, playtime, story time and songs from 9-10.30 each week during school terms. Cost is $2 per family.  We offer a simple craft, a sensory activity and read a book related to a different theme each week.

This week we joined Koala as he travelled around Australia in the book ‘Koala’s Big Day Out’ by Roger Priddy.  We explored nature in our sensory play space and sang lots of songs about different Australian animals, including the very catchy Barramundi song.  There was also a bit of a challenge to see who could stack the 12 animals in a pyramid shape without the whole lot tumbling down…

Next week we will be looking at trains with the book ‘Trains, Trains, Trains!’ by Donna David.

For more information about anything playgroup related contact Kylie Koelman in the Church Office on 8262 4690 or email at office@stpaul-church.org.au

GROWING FAITH AT HOME

This resource is developed by the Lutheran Church of Australia and is intended to be a guide in sharing faith activities with members of your family.

Here are a few ways you could introduce faith discussions in your home and day-to-day life.

Prayer:

Dear Jesus, thank you for still being with us wherever we are, even though we can’t see you. Help us to remember you are always near.  Amen.

Blessing:

(Child’s name) May you know the hope which God has given you in Jesus.  Amen.

Bible Verse of the Week:

‘While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into Heaven.’

(Luke 24:51)
