Years F/1

What a busy week it has been!

It was so lovely having families stop by and visit on our open day. It was great having you join in with our activities and see what we do in our classroom. It was so much fun and the students loved having you here.

This week we have started something new in our classroom and have started two different groups. We have the Koala and Kangaroo groups. Students are loving the groups so you will have to ask them which group they are in as I will be referring to the groups in the newsletter each week.

This week the Kangaroo group have been working on writing narratives. They were given a sentence prompt and they had to continue the story thinking about a problem and solution for their character. They were able to spend a couple of days taking their time writing the story. The students were shown how to do some editing and they went back and made sure they had capital letters and full stops. They have had the chance to have a go at typing their stories and they have LOVED IT!! It was really great to see the Kangaroo group giving this a really great go and trying their best!

The past couple of weeks the Kangaroos and Koalas have been working on addition and subtraction. They have done a fantastic job and taken on the challenge really well. It has been great to see them all improve and listen to feedback. They have been engaged with all tasks and had such a positive attitude.
