Principal's Report

I cannot quite comprehend that we are at the end of Term 3 already!

With the official requirements of the School Review now concluded we are now looking forward to receiving the report from the reviewer early next Term. From the report that must go through two levels of accountability scrutiny, we can quickly start work on the next School Strategic Plan, that will be operational by the first day of the 2020 school year.  The positive feedback that the school community has received from the Reviewer and the two Challenge Partners through the review process has been fantastic. Comments centered around the academic and social, emotional capabilities of our students was a highlight. Discussions regarding the vast opportunities covering many different disciplines available to our students were also something mentioned on many occasions.

Foundation Incursion

Today, our super Foundation students enjoyed an interactive incursion on Respectful Relations focusing on making friends and how best to do this.  Feedback from the teachers and students was positive.

Fete News

A huge thank you to all those parents who have already committed their time to support our Major Fundraiser for 2019. We are wanting this to be a great community event where we can showcase our wonderful community to the outside world and make lots of money at the same time. In order to do this, we need all hands on deck. As Confucius say, 'many hands make light work'. Open the attached document and select the Volunteer Sign up link, to help out at your child's stall or any of the other opportunities available.

We have had a great response to our 'potted plants', 'chocolate bar', 'lolly jar' & 'soft drink' request but could always do with more, so if you haven't yet had the opportunity to donate, now is your chance.

With the school holidays upon us now is a time to check through your bookshelves for suitable books to be sold at the School Fete.

We will NOT be accepting Magazines, Reference Books or books not suitable for our general population to browse.  Please get your good quality used books ready to bring in early next term.

Due to the great support of parent Dean Whitfield and immij printing at https://www.immij.com/, each family will be receiving a booklet of 5 raffle tickets to sell as part of the Fete fundraising efforts tomorrow. Tickets sell for just $2 for a chance to win a plethora of prizes. The raffle will be drawn at the Fete at 3 pm on the main stage.

Does anybody know an auctioneer? To make our Kid's Art Auction as authentic as we can, how great it would it be to have a 'real' auctioneer & hammer calling the shots? Contact Charlie Kenez at kenez.charles.a@edumail.vic.gov.au  if you know of someone who could fill this job for us.

Footy Colours

Don't forget that tomorrow is our footy colours day. So besides coming along to our Birthday Breakfast at 8 am to have your breakfast served up by the teachers, we are encouraging you to wear your footy colours to help raise funds for kids with cancer. Please bring a gold coin to support this great cause. The students also will be enjoying as part of the Footy Day, a special ‘Hot Dog Lunch’ organised and prepared by our wonderful parents. Special thanks to Kirsten for organising this opportunity and to all the parent helpers who will be assisting on the day.

Secondhand Uniform Sale

Last Saturday the secondhand uniform shop was open while the 2020 Foundation students had a PMP session.  We had a great turnout of both incoming and current parents and raised a fantastic $657.  Thank you so much to the team of parents that helped out on the day - Lisa, Catherine, Tanya, Ruwani, Kate and Michelle.

Finally, tomorrow is the last day of Term 3.  The Terrific Kids assembly will be at 2.00 pm tomorrow with school finishing at 2.30 pm.  I would like to thank everyone for their invaluable support over the Term and wish you all a safe and enjoyable holiday. I look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday 7th October for a busy, productive Term 4.
