College Photographs
Photographers were on site today to take "catch up" photos for students who were absent on photo day. If your child was absent today also, and you would like their photograph taken, please email Ms Carol Dixon on cdn@sthelena.vic.edu.au
Student Climate Strike 25 March 2022
You may have seen media reports encouraging students to take part in the Climate Strike next Friday. It is not the role of the college to encourage or discourage students to take part in political action. However, I stress that next Friday is a normal school day and all students are expected to attend unless they are unwell. Arrangements for missed SACs etc are as normal, ie. a medical certificate must be provided for the SAC to be rescheduled and scored. As always, any absence needs parental approval via Compass.
Building updates
- Toilets: We have hired 8 portable toilets for the next few weeks to relieve pressure on the senior school toilets. These are for senior use only. Unfortunately we were limited in terms of location as the toilets had to be craned in and on a flat surface. They are on the edge of the agora, divided into male and female and we have created some privacy by having the toilets facing each other. Each individual cubicle locks. The "new" senior school toilets will be opened next week.
- New science building: our brand new Science building is to be handed over next week. It is a beautiful space and I look forward to our students enjoying the space. Here are some sneak pics!!
Finally our new gym becomes usable for classes from the 28th of March. The "old" gym will be closed for refurbishment, as will the first Humanities block. The "old" senior toilets will also be refurbished over the next few weeks.
