Recycling at Swimming Carnival

Well, that went better than expected! We collected far more recyclable items than we had expected, given that we didn’t hold a BBQ at the Swimming Carnival this year. In total, we collected more than 800 recyclables – equating to 10 bags full, as well as around 46 free drinks being handed out. We had a few people handing in over 100 recyclable items over the course of the event! We also awarded over 600 House Points for our Trass Toss game. We are so very thankful to all those who were involved with our stall, not only Green Team members, but also all those who handed in things that would otherwise go to landfill and participated in our games.

A special thanks to Anais and Isabella for doing a wonderful job organising and running the Trash Toss, and Ms Saathoff, who enabled the stall to run.

Congratulations to Waratah House for winning the Recycling Competition, and to Banksia for winning the Trash Toss, and the overall Green Team events. We hope to see even more involvement from everyone at Athletics Carnival in March!
