Sports

Hello Brentwood Students and Families,

I would like to quickly reflect on our amazing Swimming Carnival before moving on to our upcoming sporting events. Our swimming carnival took place last Tuesday at Monash Aquatic Centre and was an absolute success. It was amazing to see so many smiling faces attending and getting involved in the range of activities available. These included the swimming events, both individual and relay, novelty events ran by the Sport Captains as well as land-based activities organized by our amazing VCAL team. At the end of the day Waratah emerged as the winning house however the level of participation was stellar throughout and all students should be congratulated for getting involved. We look forward to making our swimming carnival even gigger and better in 2023!

As always Term 1 is full of sporting events for our students to take part in. Our Athletics Carnival is coming up quickly on the 24th March and parental consent is live on the Compass event. Please make sure to have your consent submitted two days before the event (Tuesday 22nd March). Students will also have access to the athletics event sign ups, as usual this is done through Microsoft forms and the link to the form is posted on their Compass newsfeed, student bulletin and House Teams. Students will have until Friday the 18th of March to sign up to events using the form and please ensure that students are accessing the form when signed in with their Brentwood email.

And finally our interschool sport events are commencing on Monday the 21st of February with our senior tennis, volleyball, softball, baseball, cricket, table tennis and lawn bowls teams competing against our fellow Monash Division schools. I’m sure you will all join me in wishing the teams the best of luck! Try outs for our intermediate and Year 7 and 8 teams will be commencing in the coming weeks so students should be actively monitoring their Teams and Compass for updates.

It has been a busy term for sport so far however we are only just getting started!
