Principal's Report

It has been a great start to 2022 for Brentwood. Teachers are getting to know students as both learners and unique individuals who bring differing interests and backgrounds into the classroom. Brentwood is a proudly diverse and inclusive school that promotes and celebrates endeavours and achievements across a broad spectrum of academic and extracurricular fields. A successful Swimming Carnival last week was enjoyed on a lovely Summer’s day - See more details about the Swimming Carnival in the Sports section of the Newsletter. Congratulations to all the students who participated and represented their house. All in attendance contributed to a great day, notable for the seamless organization of Edin Selimovic, Director of Sport, and all the Brentwood staff.

This week our first House Assemblies were held during students’ ASPIRE class. Whilst we would prefer to get our houses all together to recognise and celebrate our students, the online assemblies were able to be streamed into individual classrooms. Under the tutelage of Tracey Cain, Director of Student Leadership, a number of our talented student leaders collaborated with peers and teachers to present the House Assemblies. As an added bonus, the online House Assemblies can be shared with our community to enjoy. A chance for you to see our students developing their leadership skills, and also an opportunity to learn a bit about our Heads of House. Which Head of House wants a monkey for a pet? Who runs regularly? Could there be a frustrated screen writer in our midst and who loves a dollar? See below to find out.
