Principals Report

- Sarah Rose (Acting Principal)

As we reach hit the middle of Term 1, I would like to applaud our students on the way they have settled into their studies so far this year. While we are still ‘living with Covid’, I am so pleased to see the level of engagement and activity throughout the school, despite this challenge.

We continue our strong focus on student engagement and connection to school this term, with a range of exciting activities having already occurred, as well as many more to come.

So far this term we have seen:

  • Year 7 Funfields and Brainstorm sessions
  • Year 8 Bendigo Theatre trip
  • Whole School Swimming Sports, and Interschool swimming
  • Interschool Sporting Comps
  • Year 10 Tomorrow Man Sessions
  • Year 10 Outdoor Education Camp
  • Year 9 RAID
  • VCAL Homelessness Awareness Program

We have also continued to work on parent engagement through our organisation and support of a range of events for parents such as:

  • Parent Information Sessions
  • Cyber Safety Parent Presentation
  • Promotion of Parent workshops on Raising Teenage boys (delivered by Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health).

I’d like to thank parents for their continued support of our programs, and encourage you all to take advantage of these opportunities as they become available. If you have any suggestions for further community/parent engagement activities, we would love to hear them.

We will be holding our 2022 Investiture Evening, next Wednesday March 16th. This is one of my favourite nights of the year, in which we recognise the work and contribution that our student leaders provide to our school community. I look forward to seeing our student leaders, and families there.
