Year 10

"Leadership is an action, not a position"

Over the past weeks, all Year 10 students have been invited to take the plunge and apply for a leadership position this year. It is a wonderful opportunity to step outside their comfort zones and grow as individuals. Given the last few years, we have given all students who applied the opportunity to be involved and lead the year level!

We congratulate the following Year 10 students who have experienced success in their Class Leader roles:

  • Mia Espinoza
  • Bridgette Veneris
  • Josie Friend
  • Lola Martin
  • Mia Neves
  • Matilda Dunn
  • Gabrielle Smyth
  • Hannah Scofield
  • Alicia Noble
  • Aline Boyadijan
  • Shania Nugara
  • Nyrie Bedikian
  • Charlotte Sweeny

We will be meeting regularly as a team to discuss what ways we can create a positive, inclusive and (most importantly) FUN culture within our year level. One where we can all laugh with each other and make up for the lost time over the past few years!

Wellbeing

Returning to school after an extended absence is HARD! It is important that we encourage our young people to listen to their bodies and what it needs. If we need to rest, it is okay to take a break. Their bodies are growing and developing, on top of a very stressful school, social and extracurricular life. Sometimes resting and recharging is the best way to find motivation. I encourage all students and families to put your health and wellbeing first to enable a flourishing learning environment at school and (importantly) at home.

I have attached a fantastic resource that I have shared with the Year 10 students that is filled with some useful tricks and suggestions to help young people study and get the most out of their learning, so that what they are doing is effective, high quality and minimising the time spent on tasks. Hopefully, we can all find a balance with school and life.
