Lenten Liturgy 'ALL THINGS MADE NEW'

Holy means "set apart" and as Christians set apart an entire week for Holy Week to recall the events surrounding the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus. For us, this year, this will occur in the holidays.

In this time of mystery, we share in faith, hope and love, a transformation which binds us all together across the boundaries of time and space and even death itself.

Although we have much to be grateful for in our little corner of the world, our hearts are frequently troubled and our minds tormented by the scenes of human tragedy, natural disaster, the pandemic, conflict and terror which at times, can surround us.

Our God of endless renewal, promises that "all things will be made new" because he desires so much good for us all. He leads us forward to navigate each day 'anew' to be people of the Resurrection, using our gifts to bring revival to a world hungering for rebirth.

On Friday our students will experience the Stations of the Cross as one of Christianity's most significant liturgies; stemming from inspirations of early Christian pilgrims after their return from visiting Jerusalem. The focus of our liturgy is selected Stations of the Cross featuring key moments of Jesus on his journey to Calvary. As a prelude to holy week, students were invited to ponder the meaning and images to prayerfully imagine what Jesus endured, to strengthen our hearts with a greater understanding of the depth of his sacrificial love for us.

An Easter Blessing

The coming of Easter reminds us of God's never-ending love for us. In the midst of a chaotic world, fraught with conflict and challenge, we take this opportunity to contemplate all we are grateful for. We praise the Lord, our God, for his endless blessings.

May you celebrate the upcoming holy week with a heart filled with peace and love for your friends and families. Have a blessed Easter.

May the glory and the promise of this joyous time of year bring peace and happiness to you and those you hold most dear.

And may Christ, Our Risen Saviour, always be there by your side to bless you most abundantly and be your loving guide.

Lord, we lift our hearts to you.

AMEN
