Principal's Report

Dear Collingwood College,

Congratulations to all our students, staff and families for a wonderful Term 1. It is fantastic to be going into the school holidays, confident that Term 2 will start as expected on April 19th.

Term 2 promises to be a great term - starting with Three-Way Conferences for P-10 students on the first Wednesday back – you can make bookings via compass now!

The Victorian Government has further relaxed its COVIDSafe settings from 6pm on Friday 26th March. Changes to the COVIDSafe settings include allowing more visitors in the home, changes to mask-wearing in some settings and updates to density limits in some settings. There are limited operational changes for schools.  Visitors continue to be welcomed at our school, however, face masks must be carried by individuals 12 years and over at all times and worn when physical distancing of 1.5 metres cannot be maintained.  Individuals aged 12 years and over must continue to wear a face mask when on public transport, school buses and when in taxis or rideshare vehicles – unless they have a lawful exemption.

We have no requirement to limit the number or type of visitors to school premises, however, the density limit of 1 person per 2 square metres should continue to be applied to any space or activity being attended by parents/carers and other visitors, which applies to our school assemblies. The density limit applies to all persons in the space, including students.  Thank you for your understanding and support throughout this term as we continue to implement COVIDSafe practices at our school.   The staff and I look forward to welcoming all our students and families back to school events in Term 2.

I wish all of our students and families a wonderful, relaxing and happy holiday break. May the weather be kind to us, and you enjoy all the fantastic activities and events that Collingwood, Melbourne, and surrounds has on offer over the Easter weekend.

Kind Regards,
