Term 2, 2021

Welcome back to the second term of the school year. It is a little unbelievable that we are into May already - or is it just me getting old!? The weather is getting cooler and it has been lovely to have a couple of long weekends.

As always it will be a fun and busy term with lots of learning and school events. Check out the term calendar for your reference, we sent one home last week - but things are always changing! Bunnings - Sensory Garden

Plainlands' Bunnings spent a couple of days at the school updating our little garden. Students enjoyed helping them and I know will love the smell & touch of all the new additions.

ANZAC March

Thanks to those joined us in Laidley for the march on ANZAC day. It was beautiful day and always special to share it together. Thanks also to Flight Lieutenant Sam Green for speaking with us in our school service.

School Banking

School banking services will cease to be offered in our school and all Queensland state schools from 31 July 2021. In line with several other states and territories, the Department of Education’s decision is in response to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission’s (ASIC) Review of School Banking Programs report in December 2020. Students will be able to maintain their banking relationship directly with their bank. Consumer and financial literacy will continue to be delivered to students as part of the Prep to Year 10 Australian Curriculum, including Moneysmart and the BuySmart competition.

Statements have been sent home - please make payments ASAP, if you have any queries please speak to Cheryl in the office.
Return any unexplained absence forms or ring the office
Please label any uniforms or lunch boxes so they can be returned to their owners
