Welcome back to the second term of the school year. It is a little unbelievable that we are into May already - or is it just me getting old!? The weather is getting cooler and it has been lovely to have a couple of long weekends.
As always it will be a fun and busy term with lots of learning and school events. Check out the term calendar for your reference, we sent one home last week - but things are always changing! Keep an eye out on Class Dojo & FaceBook for updates & information. The Date claimer section has information for your reference for the month of May.
Plainlands' Bunnings spent a couple of days at the school updating our little garden. Students enjoyed helping them and I know will love the smell & touch of all the new additions.
Thanks to those joined us in Laidley for the march on ANZAC day. It was beautiful day and always special to share it together. Thanks also to Flight Lieutenant Sam Green for speaking with us in our school service.
The are the events happening at the school this month.
School banking services will cease to be offered in our school and all Queensland state schools from 31 July 2021. In line with several other states and territories, the Department of Education’s decision is in response to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission’s (ASIC) Review of School Banking Programs report in December 2020. Students will be able to maintain their banking relationship directly with their bank. Consumer and financial literacy will continue to be delivered to students as part of the Prep to Year 10 Australian Curriculum, including Moneysmart and the BuySmart competition.
