Introducing:

The Trinity Difference

2021 Focus on EFFORT

‘The Trinity Difference’ is the visual representation of our vision for learning.

In the development of this learning and teaching framework, we asked ourselves what we valued the most in learning and the answer was ‘effort’. No matter at what level our students begin, that they are trying their hardest to achieve success in their own learning.

We value effort in our students to grow in their knowledge, character and skills. Learning which links to the real-world, and the development of life-long skills to embrace challenges with the grit required to learn which subsequently enables us to grow.

We aim to develop courageous learners with a growth mindset and an understanding that mistakes and failures along the way are the greatest lessons of all. These setbacks encourage persistence and develop resilience for learners to be responsible for their part in the learning. The best learners are self-motivated and understand how to learn and the why behind the learning in their challenge to succeed.

Our learning at Trinity focuses on the development of student abilities through focused feedback on class tasks and using assessment task rubrics where students can identify the keys for success and what they can do to achieve it.

We encourage parents to access the parent access module, PAM (see article), weekly to see the learning planned for your child and to be part of the teaching and learning partnership. Regular discussions with your child focused on effort, will help to develop good learning habits and encourage or reward the effort your child has given to set tasks.

Our teaching and learning in 2021 will have a strong focus on effort as the most valuable trait to develop in our students. Your input as parents, will help us to develop the characteristics of good learners in your children and build them for a successful future.
