SACE Art Show & AGASA Gallery Visit

Students from Miss Brooke’s Stage 2 Visual Art and Design class, and Mr Fiegert’s Stage 2 Digital Communications class visited the SACE Art Show, and the Art Gallery of South Australia.  At the SACE Art Show, students were inspired by the 2020 Visual Art students and their final art pieces and accompanying folios.

The SACE Art Show is an incredible opportunity for students to be inspired by the artists of their generation. Students engaged with the art, read the practitioner statements, and spent time looking through the folios on display. Our Endeavour students are highly creative, determined and capable young artists.  The variety of materials and art styles on display gave all students something to be inspired by.  A true sense of determination, empowerment and encouragement came from viewing work produced by their peers.

Our students are working particularly hard to consider the message they want to share in their own art pieces, and I encourage you to watch this space as the artists of Endeavour get ready to showcase their incredible talent in our own 2021 Endeavour Exhibition later this year.

Visiting the work featured in the Art Gallery of South Australia provided students with an opportunity to engage with the professional and high profile artists' works on display.

Student Feedback

Looking through the folios at the SACE Art Show was helpful and inspiring as I can now see how much work and writing goes into them and will use the examples to better my work in the future.

I loved seeing the work from last year's Year 12s at the SACE exhibition which inspired me to achieve my best. I also enjoyed seeing the diversity of the pieces and I am keen to experiment with my style more.

Admiring the variety of artworks and folios on display at the SACE Art Show was highly beneficial and such a great experience! It helped me recognize the immense efforts that have been put into all pieces. From notes, to sketches, to developments, to final products, it was great to comprehend the process behind such beautiful artwork and walking away with so many ideas.

Seeing the range of artworks and folios that were completed in Year 12 last year at the SACE Art Show, has really helped me to visualise the effort that has been put into them as well as the development of final pieces from small sketches and ideas. Seeing this development has encouraged me to sketch/write any ideas that I have as it leads to bigger and better ideas.

Cabaret 2021

The Endeavour College Music Department is excited to announce that we will be holding our annual Cabaret evening next term on Friday 21 May at 7pm in the Endeavour Centre (Week 4, Term 2). This evening will feature Music students from Years 9-12 plus senior extra-curricular ensembles. The Cabaret is one of the highlights of the Music calendar at the College and will feature performances from the Showband, Senior Vocal Ensemble, Big Band and Year 9 and 10 Class Bands plus some talented soloists.

This year’s theme is ‘The Best of Britain’ and will feature music from a range of musicians from Ol’ Blighty. One of the fun aspects of the night is the opportunity to get dressed up, and we encourage the students and audience members to dress as one of the following:

  • A British musician or celebrity
  • Anything else representing Britain (Beefeater, Scot, royalty, red phone booth, flag, Big Ben, double decker bus, tube station – your imagination is the limit)
  • Anything fire engine red, white or royal blue

Tickets are on sale now via the booking form attached below or get on the ‘dog and bone’ for more enquiries. Please return your form to the College as soon as possible to secure your tickets! Our Cabarets really are the bee’s knees!

Year 12 Drama

Hello Endeavour College! Our names are Abigail Fisk and Kayla Loechel, and we are your Drama captains for 2021!

We can’t wait to serve you, the Endeavour College community and hope that we can bring some new life into our already incredible Drama department. We plan on starting some Drama Help sessions that are hopefully going to take place later on in the term and for the rest of the year. These will be run by the senior Drama class to help with any Drama assessments you may have. Also we hope to start a Drama hall of fame that will showcase our previous productions and to acknowledge the leaders that came before us.

On Wednesday 10 March, the Year 10, 11 and 12 Drama students went to the Adelaide Showgrounds to watch The Boy Who Talked to Dogs. This show follows the story of Marty, a misfit who had struggles both at school and home. Having no real sense of belonging he found his place amongst a group of dogs. This was the first time Year 10s had been on a senior excursion and there could not have been a better show to see. A unique, interactive set, storytelling through music and incredible actors, allowed every student to take away something incredible from this show.

We hope that you all keep your eyes and ears peeled for our new initiatives and can’t wait to see how you all get involved!
