Principal's News

Dear Families of St Joseph’s Primary School Wee Waa,

Term 4 has been racing along, 5 weeks and it will be the end of the 2019 school year! Time does fly.

I hope and pray that all of your families have been safe with the recent bushfires. It does show the volatility of the environment that we live in, and how we do need to be prepared for all eventualities. At St Joseph’s we are upgrading our Emergency Evacuation Procedures, and updating technology in the school in this area. More details regarding this will be presented to the children as it is implemented.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all families who are struggling with the recent bushfires. Attached to this page you will find some letters that students from St Mary of the Angels in Guyra wrote this week. A number of these students were evacuated from school on Monday and had active fire fronts on their properties.

I am very excited about our upcoming Family FUNdraiser. This should be a great evening. There will be many activities for children and some stalls to peruse as adults. Ultimately though, it is a chance to get together, share a meal, share conversations and raise some funds for our school’s P & F. They have done a terrific job organising all of the activities and preparing for a great evening. See you all there!

Also, if you have any leftover meals or excesses that you would like to donate, this could be meals, veggies, fruit etc. We are building a bank of meals that we are distributing to families in need. We are also planning on doing a cookoff with some donated ingredients. If you would like to be part of this, please let the office know.

Yours in God,

Alistair Stewart
