Senior School Gym Refurbishment.

As part of our whole person education, sport is a key pillar, especially as we re-emerge from lockdown.

Our current senior gymnasium was opened exactly 30 years ago and was designed by past student and ex-board member Mr. John Bruce.  In true Huntingtower fashion it was built by our own staff.  

Now with 24 sports teams operating each week and myriad of staff, umpires and coaches associated with that it is time to upgrade and enlarge it while still keeping it’s originality.

This has been done in collaboration with the sports department and school architects.

The main aims of the upgrade are:

• Refresh and modernise the existing toilets
• Enlarge and upgrade the foyer as a holding space and improve gym access
• Bring natural light into the mezzanine area
• Upgrade staff facilities, reception, first aid storage
• Provide additional staff facilities, offices and meeting spaces
• Improve visibility of our sporting and bus parking areas
• Provision of more inclusive disabled access to the mezzanine, weights area and dance studio

Please observe and respect fencing and signage during the upgrade which will be complete by the end of Term 1 2022.
