Assessment for Learning

Dear Families,

As our students return to onsite learning over the coming weeks, staff will be completing assessments with all students from Prep - Year 6 for two purposes: to measure each student progress over time and also to inform teaching and learning programs between now and the end of this term.

These assessments will be used to inform teacher judgement for Semester Two reporting so that students' can be marked against the Victorian Curriculum in key areas of learning.

We understand and are sensitive to the fact that our students will be adjusting to a part-time return to school schedule.  Whenever any assessment is completed we always ensure that the data is 'triangulated' which means that we never use a single form of assessment to determine progress or areas for development.  We ensure that we use multiple data sets to support any decision making about how students are going in their learning.

Should you have any concerns about your child's progress or learning, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher.

best wishes,
