In Praise of...

'Always recognising and affirming kindness, growth and great achievements.'

In praise of Sophie from 3/4D. Sophie has been using her talents during lockdown to write stories.

Sophie recently entered the RSPCA’s 2021 Pawsome Stories Competition.  It is a writing competition for children in Years 3-6.  Children can choose to write either a fictional story about rescuing an animal or a persuasive essay - if you could change one thing to improve animals’ lives, what would it be and why?

The judges of the competition were Andy Griffiths (Children’s author), Cameron MacIntosh (author), and Dr Liz Walker (RSPCA Victoria‘s CEO). Sophie wrote a fictional story called Little Kookaburra.

Sophie has been selected as a finalist in the RSPCA CEO - fictional text category.

There will be a virtual awards ceremony next week.

Congratulations Sophie! We are so proud of you and we cannot wait to read your story.

“We the super Fatima Kids would like to say thank you to the Boon Wurrung and Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation for letting us share your land. We promise to look after it, the animals and people too. Hello land... (kids rub the land) Hello sky.. where bunjil fly's (kids arms in the air swaying side to side) Hello me....(kids hug themselves) My friends and I (kids reach out to the side to hold hands of the person next to them)”
