Principal's Message

This week is Children's Week. Children’s Week celebrates the right of children to enjoy childhood and the theme for 2021 is Children have the right to choose their own friends and safely connect with others.

Seeing this right brought to life in our school yard and learning spaces last week and again this week has been joyful.

Screams of delight in seeing a classmate after such a long time,  games that involve a whole group of friends and wide smiles when being reunited with old buddies have filled our hearts with joy.

Schools are communities. They are designed for learning together, playing together, growing together. We are so happy to be re-uniting as a community next Wednesday November 3rd.

Tomorrow Friday October 29th is World Teachers day.

World Teachers' Day is an opportunity to celebrate the teachers who are making, or have made, an impact on our lives.

This year, Victorian teachers and our SMDP teachers have continued to show their resilience, leadership and adaptability throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. They have adapted their learning environments, supported their students and school communities, and continue to share their knowledge with students in homes and in classrooms.

World Teachers' Day 2021 is an opportunity to celebrate the teachers who are making, or have made, an impact on our lives.

Thank you to every one of our St Martin's teachers for doing their best and continuing to maintain personal relationships with each and every one of their students in order to  grow their learning.

Whether you're a current student, have children in school, or have been out of school for many years, World Teachers’ Day is a chance to say, ‘thank you’.

On behalf of our SMDP students we say thank you to our teachers and staff.

We keep Dan, Kate and their boys in our prayers and thoughts at this time of sadness.
