SAKG

DEAR SCHOOL COMMUNITY...

We have been busy keeping the garden ticking along during lockdown; fixing garden beds, planting new crops & harvesting & freezing vegetables for when the children return.

In addition, the children have been receiving garden activities & delicious seasonal recipes to cook at home.

You can view these recipes on our Instagram page @sakgfmurrumbeena.

We are looking forward to having the children back to school this term, but we are still unsure as to whether we will have volunteers back onsite this year.

If we can, we will create volunteer rosters for the remainder of the term and make them available via MPS website and the newsletter.

If we cannot have volunteers back onsite, the children will continue to do a modified SAKG program.

BUSH TUCKER GARDEN UPDATE

Over the school holidays and the first week of Term 4 construction of new garden beds and final planting and mulching was completed for our Bush tucker garden – a big thank you to Miss Munroe for her help with this job! While the plants are quite small we are hoping that the recent rains will help them establish quickly so that we can begin to harvest and prepare them in our kitchen classes soon. While remote learning is continuing for the next few weeks the Year 3 and 4 students are working on designs for signage in the garden which will be completed once they return
