Principal's Report

Gratitude

Looking at assembly last week we saw students sharing what they are grateful for….. it is very humbling.  Thank you to all those students and their families for joining with staff in celebrating their very special thoughts of what we are grateful for and sharing them with the Boronia Heights community. Sometimes, it’s easier to focus on what we don’t have, rather than what we do have. It’s important to take time out and remember all the things to be thankful for, that many of us take for granted.

3 Way Conferences

Interviews give you a great opportunity to learn more about your child's academic, emotional, and social development. They help your child's teachers understand more about your child and allows you to interact with both your child and teacher in a positive and authentic way.  Congratulations to all our students and parents that were able to join in with their child’s teacher for 3-way conferences this week. I am so proud of our students to be able to end the term in such a positive and successful forum and set goals ready for Term 4.

Enrolment

If you haven’t enrolled your child for 2022, please contact the school immediately.  Also, if you are moving or leaving BHPS, could you please contact us. This information is crucial so we can plan for 2022 accurately.

Footy Grand Final

Whether you barrack for Western Bulldogs or Melbourne it is great to be able to watch and celebrate and barrack for a team on Grand Final day in Perth. To help us get in the mood and footy fever, we are asking our students to dress up in their favourite sporting code this Friday at their morning WebEx, so we can all celebrate our wonderful Aussie footballers and the very special excitement that comes with Grand Final fever.

Upgrading Facilities

Over the upcoming holiday period we will be painting the outside of both the STEAM Lab and the Portables.  With our amazing oval and garden upgrade these buildings will be bought back to life and give our classrooms a brand-new completed look and an overall finish to our school facilities.

Large Shade Sail

We will also be having a large new shade sail structure erected over the holiday period, next to the Prep Playground.  This shade sail will enable our students to play on the concrete where all the games are under shade and out of the harsh sun.  Please Remember on the return to school to have your child come with their hat.  Hats are compulsory during fourth term.

School Fences and Gates

Our school fences and gates will be completed also in the holidays.  These gates and fences will give better security to our school facilities and hopefully deter vandals from destroying and defacing our buildings with graffiti.  They also add a very exclusive look to our school.

OshClub Vacation Care

If your child is attending Vacation Care in the school holidays, the gates around the school will be automatically locked.  You will need to call OshClub so they can let you in to pick up your child.  The phone number for OshClub is 0419 373 657. This gives our Vacation Care program added security and safety for our students.

Last Day Of Term

Our last day for Term 3 is this Friday 17th September. There will be an early finish onsite at 2:30pm, so all students need to be collected at that time or be registered to attend OshClub.

Hang in There

Thank you to our wonderful students and parents who have done an amazing job this term with remote learning.  Everyone has done their best in these challenging times. Thank you also to the staff who are constantly considering and adjusting their programs to engage our students and monitor their learning.

During the holidays, please make sure you take some time each day to ‘find joy in everyday moments.’

Take Care,

Leanne Jennings
