Year 12 Valedictory Assembly

Congratulations Class of 2021!

Today students completed their final day onsite, culminating in their participation in their Year 12 Valedictory Assembly. Kindergarten students prepared and presented encouraging messages to our Year 12's, we heard from some Year 12 parents and our Valedictorian, Lucille McCormick.

It was wonderful to see seven students who had completed their schooling at Moama Anglican Grammar since Year 2 when our Primary School commenced operation.

Principal Carmel Spry encouraged students to live a successful life, with the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson:

"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate the beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded!”

Class of 21: Last Days at MAG

What a wonderful group of young adults we have in our Class of 2021! Students have shone lately during their transition back to the classroom before their postponed exam start date of November 9th. They were able to have plenty of fun activities in between to lighten the load with our Wellness Wednesday, Dodgeball tournament and High tea!

A big thank you to Hammond Providore Moama and Michelle Theodore for your wonderful catering for our Mad hatter's tea party, complete with croquet, paint by numbers and scones!

And a big thank you to all of our Teachers for your hard work in getting our students to where they are today.

Year 7 Chapel

We have been able to hold Chapel again in Year level groups. Our focus for the Year 7 Chapel this week was understanding worship as gratitude in response to God’s gifts. His greatest gift being Jesus, but also including the many blessings of life even amidst hardship. Students spent time reflecting on someone, something and somewhere they have been thankful for this year.

Parvana - Deep Learning

At the end of Term 3, our Year 7 English students produced some creative and insightful multimodal assessment tasks. Students investigated a societal issue of their choosing, drawing their inspiration from the novel "Parvana" by Deborah Ellis. Students produced podcasts, video interviews, posters, sculptures and dioramas, engaging with topics from poverty and women's rights to the rise of the Taliban and history of Afghanistan. The assessment tasks demonstrated the incredible creativity of our Year 7's, and exhibited increased global citizenship and empathy with people from around the world.
