Middle School Report  

Welcome back to Term 4. Over the course of this term, students in Years 9 and 10 will sit semester tests and exams, celebrate the end of the school year, and begin looking to 2020 in their step up and Year 11 VCE classes.

Year 9

The ABCN Goals sessions will shortly come to an end, and students are currently preparing for the graduation ceremony and setting long term goals. Congratulations to all of the students involved this year and to Mr McCall for facilitating the program this year.

Year 10 Peer Mentors are currently working with Ms Annetts, Ms Mana Mohan and Mr Olthof to select Year 9 Peer Mentors who will begin their role this term and then into 2020. There was a high number of applications and all of them were of a very high caliber.

On Monday 9 December we will be holding our very first Year 9 Awards and Showcase Evening for students and their parents/guardians. This will be an opportunity to celebrate the academic, sporting, music, dance and debating achievements of Year 9 students. A team of students will begin working with the Sub School over the next week few weeks to organise the evening, and invitations will soon be made available.

Year 10

Term 4 will pass very quickly for the Year 10 students and their time as students in the Middle Sub School will come to an end. Teachers are preparing students for their end of semester exams, Year Level Coordinators are ensuring that all students have selected VCE subjects or VET courses for next year, and preparations for the end of year celebrations are under way.

The Year 10 Formal is fast approaching and students are reminded to bring in permission forms and payments as soon as possible. Ms Cowell and the formal committee continue to run a number of fund raising events in preparation for the celebrations. It is always an enjoyable night with games, dancing and a celebration of their time in Middle School.
